La profa. Almeida Vélez presenta sus investigaciones en un congreso internacional

Esta semana la profa. Almeida presentó su trabajo, “Enhancing student motivation and autonomy through immersive language learning Virtual Reality experiences,” en el congreso EuroCall: European Association for Computer-Assisted Language Learning, Milan, Italia.

Conoció a muchos colegas y aprendió nuevas ideas para volver a campus y compartirlas con los compañeros.

Cuenta en su descripción para el congreso:
“Within the Language Resource Center at Illinois Wesleyan University, USA, we have implemented VR devices and the ImmerseMe immersive language platform over the past year. This process involved significant investment, tutor and professor training, classroom demonstrations, and integration into basic language sequence courses. However, the platform provides an additional resource to the learning journey of students, providing flexibility to allow students to explore at their own pace, select topics of interest, and personalize their learning experience. I will present our implementation process, preliminary findings, and recommendations for effectively incorporating VR into language curricula. Initial data suggests increased motivation and enthusiasm but also highlights challenges, including the need for clear guidance, structured implementation, and sufficient preparation time.”
