Brandon Christol ’04 and wife Susanne Bertucco welcomed baby boy Ben Bertucco Christol on April 22, 2019!
Congratulations Brandon and Susanne!
You did it, Titans! You were the key to our success. On April 11, 2,205 donors collectively raised $518,316. And thanks to the generosity of our pacesetter challenge donors, our grand total is $776,316 (and still counting!)
This video captures a few successes from #AllInforWesleyan. Check out the social media activity and revisit iwu.edu/all-in to see how your gifts made a difference.
Janice Scidmore (Ruhl) ’04 and her husband, Brian, just opened a pottery shop in Downtown Bloomington called Cracked Up Pottery. They will be selling Brian’s pottery, hosting studio space for artists to throw their own pottery on the wheel, and will have classes for individuals or groups to learn how to make pottery using a potters wheel.
Congratulations, Janice and Brian!
After Black Friday and Cyber Monday is #GivingTuesday, a global initiative to celebrate generosity and give back during the holiday season. Join the movement and help make bright futures possible for current Titans with a gift at www.iwu.edu/give today!
Lavanga Wijekoon ’04 came to IWU as an international student from Sri Lanka. Now an attorney at an international law firm in Chicago, he advises and represents multinational employers. Recently, he has participated in negotiations for a business and human rights treaty at the United Nations. He also represents pro bono asylum seekers and “Dreamer” applicants. As a speaker for Homecoming 2017’s Back to College Classes, Lavanga shared his thoughts on how IWU – his friends, professors, and work-study at Saga – prepared him for his career, and how he met his wife-to-be on a May Term class. His presentation, entitled “From the SAGA Dishroom to International Law Firm: A Former International Student’s Reflections”, may be viewed below.
Congratulations, Lavanga!

As IWU celebrates Titans Around the World at Homecoming this weekend, we will also honor our alumni who served worldwide as veterans and first-responders, including Captain Ryan A. Beaupre ’95. We will remember Ryan and all veterans and first-responders who have given their lives in the service of others and our country. Presenting the colors will be American Legion Color Guard Post 635 Normal and Post 56 from Bloomington. The ceremony will take place this Saturday, October 14th at 12:45 p.m., prior to the Homecoming Football game at Tucci Stadium and will include the National Anthem sung by Wayne Messmer ’72. Classmates and friends can view the ceremony on streaming video live at https://portal.stretchinternet.com/iwu/.
