Titan Band B 2016-2017 Basketball Schedule

If you are going to miss a performance, you need to e-mail Mr. Risinger two days prior to the game. You must give the reason for missing and the name of the person from Band A who will be replacing you. Please make sure that the sub plays the same part as you. Also it will be your responsibility to remind your sub to be at the game. Thank you.

Illinois Wesleyan University Titan Band
2016-2017 Season

Attendance Requirements:
1. All Titan Band members are required to attend all rehearsals.
2. All Titan Band members are required to attend all events.
3. During the basketball season the group will be divided into two separate bands.
Each band will be responsible for playing at half of all the home men’s and women’s
basketball games. You will be required to play at all the games to which you are
assigned.
4. All Titan Band members are required to report to games 45 minutes prior to the
starting times.
5. All Titan Band members are required to stay the entire length of each game.
6. All Titan Band members are required to perform for Homecoming Weekend!

Saturday, October 1, from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. on the quad
Football game at 1:30pm, Call Time is 12:45pm

****No unexcused absence during homecoming weekend!!****
*** If you receive work study/ payroll you will be required to participate in all volunteer games. ***

Practice Requirements:
1. Titan Band will rehearse, as a group once a week for approximately one hour.
2. All Titan band members are required to practice individually, or as a section, at least
one additional hour per week.

Unexcused Absences:
1. **Everyone will be allowed one unexcused absence (either a rehearsal or game)
during the football season. Basketball season there are no unexcused absence, instead
you must find a sub from the other basketball band. The second absence may result in
a dismissal from the group. **
2. If you are late more than three times, you may be dismissed from the group.
3. If you are on work study/payroll, one hour will be deducted from your time card for
every time that you are late to rehearsal or a performance.

Excused Absence:
1. Absence due to an illness that is documented by the school nurse will be
considered excused.
2. Absence due to a death in the family that is documented by the Dean of Students
will be considered excused.

Fees:
1. You are required to pay a $10.00 (cash only) music book fee. If you return your
music book and flip folder in good condition at the end of the year, you will be
entitled to a full refund.
2. If you do not currently own a Titan Band Shirt, you will be required to purchase one.
The cost is $10.00 S – XL, $11.00 – XXL and $12.00 XXXL. (Cash Only)

Miscellaneous Information
1. All Titan Band members are required to wear the official Titan Band shirts and
jeans to each game.
***Do not bring homework to any rehearsal or performance. ***
3. Paid and non-paid Titan Band members are required to meet identical expectations.

Congratulations to our 3 student conductors for next year! Our returning conductors are John Gelasi and Megan Koch. The new conductor is Jack Gardner. We look forward to a great season next year under your batons!

Titan Band’s first rehearsal of the 2016-2017 season will be on Wed, August 31th from 6pm-8pm in Presser Hall Room 167. Bring your instruments because we will do some playing. Books will be signed out. There is a $10 deposit for both books, so bring your deposit with you if possible. After the first rehearsal all rehearsals will be 6pm-6:50pm. We are looking forward to seeing all of the returning members and hopefully a lot of new faces! This is going to be a fantastic season!
