About The Ensemble

The Illinois Wesleyan Titan Band provides music and entertainment on campus at the home football and basketball games. The band has also had the honor of performing at the NCAA Division III Final Four basketball tournament at IWU’s very own Shirk Athletic Center in 2010 and 2011.  Titan Band has also traveled to Hope, MI and Salem, Va in 2012 and 2014 respectively to play at NCAA Division III Final Four tournaments. The band consists of approximately 90 students representing nearly 20 different majors.  The Titan Band plays around 80 charts and performs for approximately 40,000 people each season.

Our ensemble is open to all students of any major – no audition required. We also have a certain amount of work study and payroll positions for students. The instruments in our ensemble are flutes, clarinets, saxophones, horns, trumpets, trombones, euphoniums, tuba, electric bass, drum set, and bells.

For more information about the ensemble or to join, please contact Ed Risinger, the Titan Band’s faculty director. All contact information can be found on the personnel page.
