Nora Peterson ’14 participated in the Hart Career Center’s panel “Champions of Change,” which focused on Minor Myers, Jr.’s challenge: “Go into the world and do well. But more importantly, go into the world and do good.” Congrats and thank you for participating!

Brad Gresik ’14

Congratulations to Brad Gresik ’14 who founded an election-technology startup called Tally Up, which provides predictive voter analytics & strategies for down ballot elections. For the 2020 cycle, his team of himself and 3 San Francisco based data scientists partnered with over 25 campaigns ranging from large municipality races to state general assemblies.

Pat Cavanaugh ’14

Chicago International REEL Shorts Film Festival screened the comedy-horror web series Dear Dark Lord,  a production of alumnus Pat Cavanaugh ’14. The web series “chronicles a young woman’s dual struggles to: 1) Make it in the big city, and 2) Serve an unholy wretch known as ‘The Dark Lord.'”

The series is 8 episodes long and is aims to find “the humor and horror in searching for connection — and yourself — in early adulthood.”

Cavanaugh received his BA in English Writing and Political Science and is currently pursuing a MFA in Writing for the Screen and Stage at Northwestern University’s Graduate School. His involvement and performance at improv theaters is where Dear Dark Lord began in discussion with collaborator Ryan T. Eakins.

Emily Shearer ’14 and Beth White ’11

Emily Shearer ’14 and Beth White ’11 met at the Háblame tables during their time at Illinois Wesleyan University. Both psychology majors later applied to Bradley University’s counseling program, enrolling in the Mental Health and School Counseling tracks.

Earlier this semester, both Emily and Beth passed the Counseling Preparation Comprehensive Examination (CPCE) with Distinction! This honor recognizes the top 5% of counseling students in the country.

Megan Dyer ’14

IWU Alumna Megan Dyer ’14 recently graduated from Northwestern University’s  The Family Institute, earning a Masters of Arts in Counseling. Following her graduation, Dyer will work full time as an outpatient therapist at Turning Point Behavioral Health Care Center, located in Skokie IL. Previously, Dyer held an internship there.
