Irwin ’04 Named Shareholder For Segal McCambridge Singer & Mahoney

Segal McCambridge Singer & Mahoney is pleased to announce the addition of five new shareholders. The five attorneys selected represent many of Segal McCambridge’s varied practice areas in several offices throughout the country. “These five young attorneys have displayed strong skill sets in construction, transportation, toxic tort, employment, environmental, and products liability litigation matters throughout their careers,” says Mark Crane, managing shareholder of Segal McCambridge. “The firm congratulates our five newest shareholders, Eric Conn, Will Irwin, Matt Jardine, Simon Lee and Chris Triska.”

William R. Irwin ’04, who is based in Segal McCambridge’s Chicago office, has experience with a wide variety of litigation matters, and focuses particularly on defending products and premises liability claims associated with the use of asbestos. As part of a national coordinating counsel team for a large industrial products company, Will oversees asbestos litigation in some of the country’s most active and dangerous jurisdictions, including New York, Louisiana, Missouri, Illinois, and Michigan, and handles all aspects of large-liability wrongful-death and terminal illness claims, including fact and expert depositions, pleadings and motion practice, trials, and appeals. Will is grateful to the Illinois Wesleyan biology and economics faculty for the scientific and analytical training they provided, as his practice requires a deep understanding of cellular biology, genetics, and carcinogenesis, as well as an ability to analyze economic modeling of damages and long-term claim trends.

Congratulations to Will on his achievements!

Thank A Giver Day

February 20th is Thank A Giver Day, when students, faculty, and staff across campus are celebrating donors and the impact they have on campus. Thank A Giver Day symbolizes the day when tuition dollars runout and the University relies on donors, the endowment, and external grants to cover the costs for the remaining 30% of the year.

Many of us understand firsthand the impact of donor support in enabling our experiences as a Titan. Today’s the day to show our appreciation. Make a gift at www.iwu.edu/give. If you have already made a gift this year, thank you!

And, as always, if you have a story to share about how your IWU experience was impacted by donors, we want to hear it! Use #IWUThanks in your post.
