Jordan Ault ’04 Becomes Partner at Husch Blackwell LLP

Jordan Ault ’04 was recently promoted to partner at Husch Blackwell LLP.  He practices product liability and mass tort litigation in the firm’s Technology, Manufacturing & Transportation business unit.

Jordan is active in the community and serves on the board of directors of Grace Hill Settlement House.  His wife, Chelsey Hillyer ’05, received her Master of Divinity degree from Eden Theological Seminary in 2015 and serves as pastor of Union United Methodist Church.  They live in St. Louis with their daughter, Jo.

Assistant Public Defender Chris Holland (04) Publishes Article

Chris Holland (04) published an article titled “A Defense Counsel’s Guide to Preserving Evidence” in the DCBA Brief, the Journal of the DuPage County Bar Association. Volume 28, Issue 2 October 2015. The article reviews the importance and consequences of a criminal defense attorney requesting that the trial judge enter an order preserving the evidence in a case so that the defense may have a chance to examine it. Chris has been an assistant public defender in DuPage county since June of 2008 after graduating law school from John Marshall in Chicago in 2007.

Jill (Schafer) Jackson (04) and Michael Jackson (04)’s family just grew by a few! They welcomed Caden David, Cooper Richard, and Lillian Grace into their lives on August 13, 2015. Congratulations to them and their family!

Stephanie Swearingen ’04 Soloist Performance

Stephanie Swearingen ’04 was a soprano soloist in the Messiah performance sponsored by the Gibson Area Music Foundation on Sunday, December 6, 2015, the Paxton Record reported.

The event was sponsored by the Gibson Area Music Foundation and directed by Willie Summerville of Champaign. Swearingen was one of two new soloists featured in the performance.

She is a 2000 graduate of Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley High School and a 2004 graduate in piano performance of Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington. After spending a year in New York, Swearingen is employed in human resources with the University of Illinois and resides in Champaign. She is the daughter of Steve and Kay Swearingen of Melvin.
