Marybeth (Mathison) Timmermann ’93

Marybeth Timmermann ’93 assisted Sylvie Le Bon de Beauvoir and Margaret A. Simons as editors of the latest volume in the Beauvoir Series: Diary of a Philosophy Student, Volume 3, 1926-30. https://www.press.uillinois.edu/books/?id=c045646 She joins an international team of Beauvoir scholars as a longtime contributing translator and editor to this internationally acclaimed Series published by University of Illinois Press. Timmermann has also translated several novels, one of which appeared on Brittle Paper’s 100 Notable Africa Books of 2022. This novel, called Barzakh: The Land In-Between, was written by Mauritanian author Moussa Ould Ebnou and published by Iskanchi Press: https://www.iskanchi.com/product/barzakh-the-land-in-between Marybeth works as an ATA-certified professional French to English translator and lives in Greenville, IL with her family.
