IWU Memories and Homecoming

Hey there, Titan Alums,
It is almost here, Homecoming 2017! Some of my fondest IWU memories were made at the football stadium cheering our mighty men of the gridiron on to victory; at every home game, but especially, at Homecoming! Standing up and belting out that “Fight Song,” accompanied by the awesome band, after each touchdown. Can you feel it? Do you remember? You can relive that excitement again!
October 13 -15th, Homecoming, 2017, please, come. If you send me your favorite Wesleyan memory, I will post it here in the newsletter. Plenty of things to see and do that weekend. Check out the one highlighted below:
If you are still deciding on which events you want to attend during Homecoming, the International RSO Fair is highly recommended. It will be on Saturday (10/14) at the Hansen Student Center, Center Court from 11 am – 1 pm. Come learn more about our multicultural registered student organizations and enjoy activities and musical performances. A light lunch will be provided, so please register either online or by phone by 10/8! You can visit the Homecoming Facebook page or the International RSO Fair Facebook event for more information.

Homecoming Weekend Coming up Soon!

I have fond memories of walking around campus and hanging out on the Quad on warm fall afternoons. Would you like to share a favorite IWU memory? Even if you can’t to make it to Bloomington for Homecoming Weekend, please feel free to share a memory or add a comment below.

Homecoming 2015 -Titan Green Over Everything- 1975

Hey, 1975 Classmates!

Dr. Debbie Burt-Frazier here, and excited about being your new newsletter editor. Thanks, to our former editor, Dr. Bruce Storey who filled this post for many years. I attended Homecoming last month and had an absolute blast! It was our 40th reunion, classmates! My how time flies! I even managed to talk a couple of fellow alums to return with me, Jacelyn Chatman-Dale ’72 and Stephan Garnett ’75. We enjoyed the Alumni luncheon, we won the football game over North Park, and partied at Club Tommy’s. As an added honor, we got to meet IWU’s new president, Eric Jensen and his wife, Elizabeth, two awesome additions to Wesleyan. Sadly, we bid a fond farewell to President Dick Wilson and wife, Pat, who for 10 years provided excellent leadership to our Alma Mater Wesleyan.

Well. I could go on, but I must save some for my next post! Take care, Titans, and may you have a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday!

Dr. Debbie

Claudia Brogan ’77 – Homecoming 2015

Elly Jones Pres
I received a note from Claudia Brogan ‘77 about how much she enjoyed Homecoming. Below is some of what she sent.

“I had such a great time at IWU’s Homecoming this past weekend.

“During the alumni luncheon on Saturday, there was a great honoring and send-off of President Wilson. That was one of my favorite parts of the Homecoming festivities. It was a great time for people to celebrate his successes and to wish him well. Here’s a photo of one of my fellow Alumni Board members, the new President of the Alumni Board Ms. Elly Jones ’91 with President Wilson.

“I am now sending photo of the fall colors and decorations on campus: they did such a beautiful job!”

Greetings, Titans!

For all of you who attended Homecoming, I hope you had a wonderful time visiting campus, reuniting with fellow classmates, and making memories to last a lifetime. If you took photos while you were here, please send them to classnews@iwu.edu with names and captions. We will post them to your Online Class Newsletter. Check here to see if you or your friends were featured in the campus Homecoming Album.

We were thrilled to offer outstanding Back to College classes taught by our talented alumni and esteemed faculty. If you weren’t able to attend the Back to College classes, you’re in luck! Click here to view the classes available.

Alumni award winners, Kyle Pfortmiller ’92, Sean Parsons ’01 and Kris Condon ‘84 gave heartfelt tributes to faculty mentors and their alma mater at the Oct. 18 Homecoming luncheon where they were honored. Those speeches can be viewed here.

Please take a few minutes and give us your feedback so that we can make Homecoming even better. We hope to see you next year. Mark your calendars for October 9-11, 2015!

Go Titans!
