Rebeccah Erickson, Robert Frank III, William Frank, Audrey Ito and Tara Simpson

Work by students in Professor of Art Sherri McElroy’s Graphic Design IV class is among the top 40 semifinalist entries in the Records for Life contest sponsored by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. The students involved were seniors Rebeccah Erickson, Robert Frank III, William Frank, Audrey Ito and Tara Simpson.

The students submitted the prototype, using a design process with the following steps: research, empathy, ideation, design, feedback, re-design. In addition to reviewing hundreds of existing immunization records from around the world, they heard from community experts about their experience in third world healthcare and immunization – Drake Zimmerman, Munib S.
