Colleen O’Connor ’14

Each year YWCA McLean County gives special recognition to women who have made their mark on our community. Colleen O’Connor ’14 has been named a 2019 nominee for the The Women of Distinction Award. Colleen’s contributions as well as those of other nominees were celebrated at the 30th annual Women of Distinction Awards Banquet on June 25, 2019.

Hannah Smith ’14

Hannah Smith ’14 graduated in August 2018 from the University of Colorado with a Master’s Degree of Science in Nurse Midwifery. She also accepted a position as a staff midwife with Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL.

Matt ’14 and Jill ’14 Pankau

Matt Pankau ‘14 and Jill Kawasaki ‘14, got married in September of 2018, with multiple IWU alumni in attendance.

Sara Yemm ’14

Sara Yemm ’14 is working for an auto dealership owned by her father, Rick Yemm ’78, that  has been in their family for 56 years and counting.
Rick and Sara sat down with The Register-Mail to discuss working as a parent-child team, how the internet has transformed vehicle sales, and why young people might want to consider a career in the auto business. Homecoming Veteran’s Service 2017

As IWU celebrates Titans Around the World at Homecoming this weekend, we will also honor our alumni who served worldwide as veterans and first-responders, including Captain Ryan A. Beaupre ’95. We will remember Ryan and all veterans and first-responders who have given their lives in the service of others and our country. Presenting the colors will be American Legion Color Guard Post 635 Normal and Post 56 from Bloomington. The ceremony will take place this Saturday, October 14th at 12:45 p.m., prior to the Homecoming Football game at Tucci Stadium and will include the National Anthem sung by Wayne Messmer ’72.  Classmates and friends can view the ceremony on streaming video live at https://portal.stretchinternet.com/iwu/.
