Michael Holding ’12 Joins Adapt Theatre

Adapt Theatre Productions in Chicago recently welcomed class of 2012 grad Michael Holding as its first-ever artistic associate. Michael most recently performed in the company’s productions of Dancing in the Storm and Below: A Bold Reimagining of the Little Mermaid.

Elsewhere in Chicago, Michael appeared in The Merchant of Venice and The Madness of Edgar Allen Poe (First Folio Theatre), The Diviners (Organic Theater) and regionally as Leo in 4000 Miles (Theatresquared). Later this winter, he will appear in the Midwest premiere of Really Really with Interrobang Theatre.

Homecoming is October 1719.  Class years ending in 4 and 9 are reunion years.  Our theme this year is Off the Charts. We are focusing on the 150th Anniversary of the School of Music, with many music themed events.  Join us on Friday night for the Green Carpet Gala Concert & Reception at the Bloomington Center for the Performing Arts. On Saturday morning, the Titan Pep Band Alumni Reunion will take place on the Quad while you enjoy the free Pancake/Sausage Breakfast. Saturday night, join us in the Young Main Lounge for Club Tommy. Michael and Liz (Kolacinski) Fornero – Members of Class of 2012 Wed in July Ceremony

Michael Fornero and Liz (Kolacinski) Fornero, both members of the Class of 2012, were married on July 5 of this year in a ceremony attended by many fellow Titan alumni.

National Institutes of Health Announces Loan Repayment Program

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) Division of Loan Repayment has announced that they will be accepting applications for a student loan repayment program from September 1-November 17. The repayment program covers the areas of clinical research, pediatric research, health disparities research, contraception and infertility research, or clinical research for individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds.

In order to qualify for the program, applicants must be United States citizens or permanent residents, possess a doctoral-level degree (excluding contraception and infertility research LRP), and have educational loan debt equal to or exceeding 20 percent of his/her annual institutional base salary.
Applicants must also devote a minimum of 20 hours per week within one of the following program areas: clinical research, pediatric research, health disparities research, contraception and infertility research, or clinical research for individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Our IWU Home listed as One of the 50 Best College Towns in America

Bloomington-Normal was recently named one of the 50 Best College Towns in America according bestcollegereviews.org. However, that fact probably comes as no surprise to us as we enjoyed many great years calling the community home during our time at IWU! Considered in the rankings were: livability, student-to-resident ratio, cultural offerings, school presence, and large employers in the area. You can view the full list of 50 Best College Towns here!
