Sarah Mysiewicz ’06 recently took a position as Senior Pensions Counsel to the U.S. Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee. Previously she lead AARP’s federal advocacy on pensions, taxes, financial services and fraud prevention. Congratulations Sarah!

Melissa Harden ’06

On May 25, 2023, Maj Melissa Harden ’06 graduated from Air Command and Staff College with a Master of Military Operational Art and Science and is a certified Joint Air Planner. After receiving her degree and certification, Maj Harden will join Air Mobility Command at Scott AFB, Illinois. Congratulations!

Joan (Teitelman) Cinquegrani ’06

Joan (Teitelman) Cinquegrani ’06 has been accepted into the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses Program–a 12-week intensive business growth course funded by Goldman Sachs. She will join the 35th Cohort of Scholars out of the Chicago site. She has successfully run her business, Five Grain Events, since 2010. Five Grain focuses on planning and executing both social and corporate events as well as non-profit fundraisers throughout the Chicagoland area. Joan lives in Chicago with her husband Patrick (’06) and four children. Congratulations Joan!

Torri “T.J.” Newman ’06

Torri “T.J.” Newman ’06 has a new book that is set to be released on May 30. Drowning: The Rescue of Flight 1421 is a thriller about a plane that crashes and sinks into the ocean with passengers enclosed in the cabin and the rescue mission that ensues. She also recently secured a film deal for this new book with Warner Bros. “It’s been a huge honor and a huge learning experience. In a novel, you have 10 pages to write a scene. In a screenplay, you have one page. Executing that kind of compression well is extremely difficult and I’ve loved the challenge of it,” she said. You can read more about the new book/movie here. Landis Wiedner ’06 was interviewed on CBS Chicago on March 23rd for the podcast she created called What the EF.
