Emily (Beaugureau) Johnson ’05 and her husband, Robert, welcomed their third daughter, Charlotte Grace, on June 15th. Charlotte was 7lbs, 6oz and 20 inches long.

Her big sisters Madelynn and Avery are thrilled with her arrival!

David A. Varel ’05 wrote the recently published The Lost Black Scholar: Resurrecting Allison Davis in American Social Thought (Chicago: University of Chicago Press, 2018).

The book is an intellectual biography of Allison Davis (1902-1983), a pioneering black scholar whose work transformed American social science even as institutional racism marginalized his contributions.

Not only is Tuesday a day for giving, it’s a day to celebrate IWU and all of the things that make it special. Last year, our class had an impressive 45 donors, let’s try for 50 this year!
