As IWU celebrates Titans Around the World at Homecoming this weekend, we will also honor our alumni who served worldwide as veterans and first-responders, including Captain Ryan A. Beaupre ’95. We will remember Ryan and all veterans and first-responders who have given their lives in the service of others and our country. Presenting the colors will be American Legion Color Guard Post 635 Normal and Post 56 from Bloomington. The ceremony will take place this Saturday, October 14th at 12:45 p.m., prior to the Homecoming Football game at Tucci Stadium and will include the National Anthem sung by Wayne Messmer ’72.  Classmates and friends can view the ceremony on streaming video live at https://portal.stretchinternet.com/iwu/.

February 16th is Thank A Giver Day — a day when the Illinois Wesleyan campus community celebrates the generosity of our supporters. We celebrate Thank A Giver Day on February 16th because at this point we’re 70% of the way through the school year. Since tuition covers 70% of the total cost of an IWU education, it’s a fitting time to draw attention to the fact that outside support from alumni and friends of the University plays a key role in delivering the kind of educational experience we expect from our alma mater.
Last year, over 8,000 people made gifts to Illinois Wesleyan University and, regardless of the size, each and every one played a role in keeping Illinois Wesleyan strong. If you would like to take a moment to make your annual gift, we invite you to do so at iwu.edu/give.
Go Titans!

April has some news to share with you all!

I recently joined Macerich, an industry leading publically traded REIT (Real Estate Investment Trust), overseeing the Leasing of a dozen Super Regional shopping centers nationwide.  My new position, Assistant Vice President of Leasing Development, will be relocating us to Dallas, TX.  I’ve been involved in the publically traded shopping center industry leasing for 8 years, with 5 years of experience prior to that in Costa Mesa, CA, working Community Relations events for South Coast Plaza, a world renowned privately owned shopping center.

I’m thrilled for the new position.  I’ll be moving to Dallas with my husband of 9.5 years and my two daughters, Lillian (9) and Hannah (7).

Congratulations to April and her family!
