Corey Schieler ‘97, a director of venture capital investments at State Farm, was named the Make-A-Wish Illinois Volunteer of the Year for 2021. He previously received Make-A-Wish Illinois’ Exceptional Creativity Award, for “bringing exceptional creativity to boost wish children’s spirits,” in April 2021.

Corey has been a wish granter since 2011 and has helped grant over 30 wishes for kids fighting critical illness.

He has received many accolades for his work, including a story on WGLT, and State Farm, Corey’s employer, created a video about his work with Make-A-Wish: Not 3 Wishes, 30 and Counting!

Check out Facebook for updates on Corey’s next wish-granting story, helping Luke, a 17-year-old Connecticut teen with rare and terminal thyroid cancer. Corey promises some of his few “magic sprinkles!” Find him on Facebook.
