Illinois Wesleyan University’s School of Nursing will honor alumna Patricia Stockert, Ph.D., RN, with the annual School of Nursing Distinguished Alumna Award. Patricia is the president of the Saint Francis Medical Center College of Nursing in Peoria, Illinois. She will receive her Award during Homecoming festivities.
Dr. Stockert ’76 will be honored during a social and awards ceremony Oct. 18 at 9 a.m. After the social, she will present “Nursing: Embrace the Unexpected Journey.”
Following her graduation from Illinois Wesleyan, Patricia began working as a surgical nurse with OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria. Later she served as an instructor at Saint Francis Medical Center College of Nursing—then called Saint Francis Hospital School of Nursing—while pursuing her master’s degree. Dr. Stockert has also served as an assistant professor and dean of the undergraduate program at the college.
Patricia earned a doctorate in nursing from Saint Louis University. Dr. Stockert has also co-authored two nursing textbooks: Fundamentals of Nursing and Basic Nursing.
