In March Bob Riseling ’59 taught a week at Memorial University for my former student. He had a chamber concert soiree at his home in June and played a second at Western University 24 September. He also filled in for the clarinet professor there the last two weeks of October. Currently, Bob is preparing the premier of The Motor City Collection by Alan Torok, two sets of five pieces each for clarinet and piano.

Fred G. Miley ’59 and his wife, Judith A. Miley ’61, are both active in their Community Crisis Response Team and in the American Legion and Auxiliary. Fred continues seeing patients 40 hours a week in 4 days. They walk a mile at night, and Fred trains in Karate and Judith trains in Yoga. They both enjoy frequent family gatherings with three of their adult children and their almost-adult children. Fred says that it is an honor to belong to the John Wesley Powell Society, as they met at IWU and he remembers it vividly and fondly.

Joyce A. Voss ’54 is proud of her son, Chris Voss, and his new book out titled “Never Split the Difference” along with his writing experiences as a hostage negotiator.

Harlan Dalluge ’58 has officially retired five times but now launched into a new endeavor–creating full color photo “statuettes” of pets, Bocce players, tennis players, grandchildren in sports, and more. Harlan and wife, Jeannine, live in a gated 55+ community with 3,000 homes and over 80 organized activities. Harlan uses his photography skills in combination with woodwork and scroll saw skills to create statuettes. They are very popular and provide enough income to allow Harlan and Jeannine to travel extensively. Great Fun for an old feller from IWU!
