Adella Louise Brewer ’57 of Monticello passed away at 2:20 a.m. Friday, Feb. 7, 2025, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.

Louise was born on Nov. 16, 1935, in Danville, the daughter of Leo Elbert and Ruth (McCallister) Knight. She married Andrew J. ‘Jack’ Brewer on Dec. 11, 1955. He passed away Nov. 26, 2021.

Louise is survived by her sons, Terry Brewer of Tuscola, Dale (Mary) Brewer of DeLand and Greg Brewer of Bement; grandchildren, Rachael Brewer of Champaign and Courtney Brewer of Newman; four step-grandchildren, Tim (Amy) Grasela and Emily Sayyae, both of Michigan, Suzanne (Cara) Ward of DeLand and Misty (Henry) Vasser of Champaign; and a sister, Dorothy Marvel of Florida. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Louise was the welcome wagon hostess for Monticello. She was a member of the Monticello United Methodist Church, Home Extension, church choir, Piatt County Summer Singers, Mothers Singers in Champaign and the Alpha Gamma Delta sorority from Illinois Wesleyan University.
