Mary Lou (Gooding) Mercier ’50 remembers being an IWU cheerleader in 1950-51 and joining Sigma Kappa sorority. She met her husband on a blind date while he was a student at ISU. She would tell a student that IWU has good teachers.

I remember you, Mary Lou, although you may not remember me since I was in the School of Music. I wonder why you were not listed in the 1950 Yearbook, although you are in the 1949 edition. You must have attended our 50 class reunion in 2000 because I have your name penned in the alphabetical listing of our class listing in the 1950 Yearbook. I am glad to hear that you are still living because not many of our classmates are. Even at the 2000 reunion several were already not very well, but congratulations on your longevity. Hope you remain well and strong.
