i’ve got a tablet not a color, so what I did wasn’t available for the color (unless it’s enabled by today’s big nook software update), but no rooting, and no custom rom. just manually download an app, launch with package installer, will jump you to authorizing unknown sources (not generally surfaced in the settings), at which point continue downloading and installing apps as you were. directions I followed here: http://liliputing.com/2011/11/how-to-sideload-apps-on-the-nook-tablet-amazon-appstore-go-launcher-ex.html
no guarantees it will be so “easy” with future software updates to the tablet.
and, I’m currently running the Kindle app on my NOOK Tablet, downloaded from the Amazon App Store.
Andrew! Hi!
Are you running a rooted Nook Color, or have you loaded a custom ROM on an SD card? I’m getting ready to try the latter.
heya rick, hope all’s well!
