I am currently a sophomore at Illinois Wesleyan University. During my time here I have studied mathematics with a concentration in actuarial science. As I learn more about myself I am deciding on branching my degree to include other minors. My academic interests branch into areas of data science, computer science, and finance. Regardless of my decision on pursuing a minor or two, I have the opportunity to expose myself to these topics. Beyond the academics at IWU, I am a pitcher on the baseball team and a part-time student employee. I have played baseball for as long as I can remember. It is a game of failure and has taught me many professional skills such as resilience and teamwork. I have the goal of becoming an actuary after college so I can utilize my mathematical skills and problem-solving skills. This is not a path for everyone as it is challenging, but I embrace the struggle as good things do not come easy.
