Thank-A-Giver Day (TAG Day) is Monday, February 10. This day provides the IWU campus community with the opportunity to thank donors who support Illinois Wesleyan. IWU celebrates each year in mid-February because it marks the symbolic point during the academic year – about 70% of the way through – when we rely on support from alumni and friends, our endowment, and external grants.

Thank you to Xingchen “Stella” Wang ’17 for offering a brief beginners workshop on November 11th on the significance of names in China and why it’s important and respectful to honor students’ names, with the opportunity to practice basic Chinese names.

Andrew Kauerauf ’17 recently graduated from the University of Washington with a Master of Arts degree in Museology. His thesis was entitled Understanding Modern History Museum Smartphone Mobile Guides and Apps.

Congrats to Boyana Borisova ’17 who has recently been selected as a Junior Fellow at the Library of Congress. The application alone for this opportunity is once in a lifetime and Borisova is very excited to have been awarded this position. Borisova would like to thank IWU for giving her the foundation for this position and her professors for the education they provided.

“The Library of Congress Junior Fellows Summer Intern Program will enable me to experience the integrated analog and digital collections and services of the world’s largest, all-inclusive library. The focus of the program is to increase access to special, legal and copyright collections, and to promote awareness and appreciation of the Library’s services to researchers including Congressional members, scholars, students, teachers, and the general public. 

As a Junior Fellow, I will work to add catalog records to the Voyager ILS to the Russian Cyrillic Priority 4 Collection which consists of 600 Russian books published between 1880 and 1940.” -Boryana Borisova ’17

You did it, Titans! You were the key to our success. On April 11, 2,205 donors collectively raised $518,316. And thanks to the generosity of our pacesetter challenge donors, our grand total is $776,316 (and still counting!)
