Matt Mason ’16 was recently named the 2024 Commissioned Composer by the Illinois State Music Teacher’s Association and was commissioned to compose a new work for solo piano titled “The Pianist’s Guide to Illinois” by ISMTA in partnership with Music Teacher’s National Association (MTNA). The Pianist’s Guide to Illinois was premiered on November 1st, 2024 and the work was published by Just A Theory Press. Congratulations Matt!

Nicolette Larsen ’16 was recently nominated for Kenosha News Salute to Nurses by her mother who says, “On her off days from working full time at the hospital, she works additional hours administering COVID-19 vaccines, plus she works part-time at a pediatric clinic in Lake County (Ill.) as well.” Nicolette currently works at Lake Forest Hospital in the adult/pediatric unit.
