Samantha Olson ’14, a second-year graduate student in the University of Illinois’ Biomedical Visualization program worked to design the new logo for the National Museum of Health + Medicine Chicago.
In the announcement article on the new logo, Olson said “My peers had also developed beautiful, insightful logos. We all pushed each other in the project, and that family-like support is why I love my graduate program at UIC.”

Congratulations to Erin Sweeney from the Class of 2014! Sweeney was selected to be a part of the PCMA (Professional Convention Management Association) 20 in Their Twenties Class of 2016.
During her time at IWU, Sweeney joined AGD, worked as president of AMA and of SAAC, and played on the softball team. She graduated with a degree in business administration with a focus in marketing.
Twenty in their Twenties is a program that is designed to engage the best and brightest in the Meetings, Conventions, and Business Events industry. Those selected will have the PCMA platform to exhibit their talents and share how they will shape the meetings industry in the future.

Homecoming 2015 – #TGOE (Titan Green Over Everything)
Alum Chris Tatara ’14 spent the summer of 2014 interning with Scholars at Risk (SAR), an international network of education institutions that works towards promoting academic freedom worldwide and defending attacks on higher education communities.
Tatara stayed in New York to work for the Global Coalition to Protect Education from Attack (GCPEA), of which Scholars at Risk is a member, until July of 2015.
In an interview with Scholars at Risk, Tatara spoke on topics including how he learned about SAR and what he found compelling about the group and their work.
“I was very passionate about my schoolwork and studies—I viewed them as my personal and professional contribution to society. So the thought of somebody taking that away immediately connected with me,” said Tatara. The full interview can be read here.
Tatara will begin classes for his Master’s at the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS). He will study for a year at their campus in Bologna Italy, before returning to finish his degree in Washington DC next year.

Illinois Wesleyan University Alum Aaron Guenther ’14 is the new girls’ tennis coach at LaSelle-Peru Township High school.
Guenther said he will use the four years of experience he had playing tennis at IWU to bring knowledge to the court in his new work. His whole statement can be read here.
