Student Loan Repayment Program

From Sept 1- Nov 17, the NIH Division of Loan Repayment will be accepting applications for student loan repayment program for the areas of clinical research, pediatric research, health disparities research, contraception and infertility research, or clinical research for individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds.
To qualify, an applicant must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, possess a doctoral-level degree (with the exception of the contraception and infertility research LRP), and have educational loan debt equal to or exceeding 20 percent of his/her annual institutional base salary.
In addition, applicants must devote at least 20 hours per week to research that fits within one of five program areas: clinical research, pediatric research, health disparities research, contraception and infertility research, or clinical research for individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Qing Ding ’13

Professor of Physics, Gabe Spalding will be featured at the SPIE Optics + Photonics conference in San Diego, August 17-21. He will present research co-authored by recent IWU physics grad “Sunny” Qing Ding ’13, “Optical trapping with pillar bowtie nanoantennas,”.

Ding is pursuing his Ph.D. in electrical and computer engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbaba-Champaign!

Nick Nichols ’13

Nick Nichols is now a Systems Summer Intern Speech Program Lead and delivered the keynote address for the Speech Competition Finals and the yearly EDIT Conference for high school students at State Farm.

Christina and a few other IWU students have been performing in the Clinton Area Showboat Theatre (CAST) in Iowa!

A performance of “Wonderful Town”, which was awarded a Tony Award for Best Musical, ran from July 24 to August 2. Jenna Haimes ’14, played the lead role of Ruth. Christina was joined in the orchestra by fellow Titans, JJ Novak ’16 and Kelly Lamorena ’14.
