Zach Johnson ’13 and Alex (Bechtel) Johnson ’14 recently gave birth to their new son Archer Owen Johnson. He was born on June 15th, 2022. Congratulations!

Jennifer Schreiber ’13 recently became a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Loyola University Chicago. Congratulations Jennifer!

Ryan Woodall ’13, adjunct instructor and multilingual member of the IWU community, spoke to IWU students about his language learning trajectory, travels, and career path on February 18, 2022. The event was sponsored by the Language Resource Center and was a part of the World Voices series.

Associate Dean of Students Kevin Carey ’13 was awarded the Tracy Davis Outstanding Emerging Research Award from the ACPA Coalition on Men and Masculinities. Carey’s research was conducted while earning his Ed.D. in Education Policy, Organization & Leadership at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. His work focused on the exploration of college men involved in masculinities programs (student success initiatives, sexual violence prevention, and/or gender identity organizations/initiatives) and how the engagement impacted their gender identity development at small, private liberal arts institutions.

Once a student intern, Mary Tackett ’13 became executive director of Bloomington’s Western Avenue Community Center in June. The center is currently celebrating 95 years of service.

We are sorry to share that Debbie has temporarily stepped down from as Class of 2013 alumni newsletter editor due to illness.  We support Debbie as she focuses on her health at this time.  The staff of the Office of Alumni Engagement will serve as the editor for 2013.  More information about her illness can be found in this link she shared.

Raven Stubbs ’13 is the new program director for PlayMakers Laboratory, a Chicago nonprofit offering educational programming focused on storytelling, theatre and social-emotional skills. Congratulations, Raven!
