December 1, 2015 Giving Tuesday

#GivingTuesday is a global day dedicated to giving back. On Tuesday, December 1, 2015, groups and individuals around the world are coming together for one common purpose: to celebrate generosity and to give.

As you consider giving this holiday season, please consider giving the gift of bright futures to current Titans. Your gift supports all the things that make an IWU experience unforgettable and unique! Gifts can be made online at www.iwu.edu/give or by calling 309-556-3091.

Thanks for keeping Illinois Wesleyan in mind this holiday season. Go Titans!

Thank You 2015 Donors!

THANK YOU to all of our fiscal year 2015 donors! Illinois Wesleyan University‘s alumni participation rate has increased for the third year in a row thanks to the generosity of donors like you! Your support helps to ensure IWU is stronger and more affordable for current and future generations of Titans. You’ve done well, and you’ve done good! Go Titans!

The class of 2011 exceeded the 24% challenge!  At least eight young alumni challenges were met in 2015, resulting in $20,000 of additional scholarship support for IWU students!

Let’s Reach 24% Giving for the Class of 2011!

Young Alumni Challenge:  If our class reaches 24% participation, an additional gift of $2,500 will be made in honor of our class. Let’s move the Tommymometer to the top!

Without alumni support, IWU simply wouldn’t be the same.  Time is running out to make a difference this fiscal year.  Help to keep IWU moving forward and show your Titan Pride by making a gift before this Friday, July 31!

Nicholas Reinhart ’11

Nicholas Reinhart ’11 was featured in the Windy City Times 16th annual 30 under 30.

ReinhartNicholasNicholas Reinhart , 26, is a writer and director, who was born and raised in the western suburbs of Chicago. An imaginative and energetic only child, his parents spent years trying to channel his enthusiasm, finally enrolling him in a local children’s theater production and sparking a life-long love of live theater.

Nicholas attended Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington, Illinois, graduating with a B.F.A. in music theater. He returned to his hometown and quickly became active in Chicago’s vital theater scene. In 2012, he was invited to join Circle Theatre as a company member and, within a year, he was promoted to producing director. He oversaw the remount production of the Jeff Award-winning When the Rain Stops Falling in the city as well as two full productions. In 2014, when Circle Theatre encountered operating troubles, he was appointed artistic director.

A proud gay man, Nicholas found a second artistic home at the LGBT theater company MidTangent Productions, where he served as associate creative director. Last year, he worked as the music director and as a cast member in the long-running production Snow White and the Seven Drag Queens. This past winter, he co-wrote and directed the 1980s-themed musical The Bitchfest Club.

As a firm believer that the arts are not a luxury but a necessity, Nicholas seeks to create art that is smart, inclusive, and ultimately, an entertaining night in the theater.

DID YOU KNOW? Nicholas has an unhealthy obsession with awards shows.

A note from Ross Fraser ’78:Ross Fraser '78

I am a graduate of IWU (’78) and in my 11th year working     as the director of media relations for Feeding America, the   nation’s largest hunger relief organization.

We are the network of most of the food banks in the country. We distribute food to about 60,000 soup kitchens and food pantries across the nation.

We feed  more than 5 million people each week and will distribute more than 4 billion pounds of food this year.

Forbes Magazine rates us as the 3rd largest charity in the U.S.

But I am not the only IWU graduate here. Sam Harris (2010) works with the food industry to help us get donations of food, and Tim Sunzeri (2011) is a senior budget analyst in our philanthropy department.

The photo above is of Ross appearing on the Rachael Ray. She surprised them with a check for $100,000!
