Sean Dwyer ’10 Prospect Heights Water Committee

Sean Dwyer ’10, a certified financial planner, was appointed to the Prospect Heights Water Committee.
Sean says “I’ve been wanting to get involved with the community and there was an opportunity to get on the advisory board here. The water topic is a big one here in my town as some homes are on well while others are hooked to the city lines. I am intrigued by the topic and love giving back!”

Congratulations, Sean!
What a great way to get involved in the community!

MacArthur Foundation Congratulates Juan Salgado

Congrats to Class of 1991 Illinois Wesleyan alumnus Juan Salgado, a Chicago-based community leader, who has been named one of the 24 MacArthur Fellows for 2015!

Each of the so-called “genius” grant winners receives a monetary award from the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, with no strings attached, as an investment in the person’s originality, insight and potential.

Salgado gave our Commencement address in 2013 and received an honorary doctor of humane letters degree during the ceremony. He joins alumna Dawn Upshaw, Class of 1982, who was named a MacArthur Fellow in 2007.

It’s a great day to be a Titan!

As a member of the Finance staff at John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, I was very excited to learn Joan Salgado won the Genius Grant! I was very proud to say he is a fellow alum!
