Katie (Whalley) Banville ’09 along with her husband Bryan and daughter Juniper have gone from having chock-full 2020 calendars of creative work to spending virtually 24 hours a day of the past nine months quarantining at home.

With many planned shows and performance cancellations, Katie, a choreographer and stage director, said, “It was heartbreaking. We definitely went through a phase of loss and grief. It was like a domino effect. One show would get postponed, and then another and another.”

Marshall B Garrett ’09 has started a podcast! Now entering its second season, The Horned Moon Presents is a serialized Shakespeare play (Season 1- Macbeth, Upcoming – Much Ado about Nothing) wrapped in a scripted Prairie Home Companion– style talk show. Marshall directs, co-hosts, and produces the podcast, which has also featured Russell Matthews ’09.

Elizabeth, Schlicht, CAE, Executive Director at Association Acumen, has received the Young Professional award from the Wisconsin Society of Association Executives. The award honors a young profession who’s making a difference through contributions to WSAE and the association community. The award was presented virtually at the Annual Business Meeting and Awards Presentation on October 27.

Thank you very much to Dr. Kemi Onajin ’09, a dermatologist and University of Chicago faculty member. She shared virtually on September 11, 2020 about her journey from IWU to her current position.
