Laurie Diekhoff

Laurie Diekhoff departed from IWU after 10 years at the Hart Career Center. She told her colleagues, “I spent 10 great years at the Career Center, enjoying my work, my colleagues, and the many relationships I have made on campus and in the community as a result of this position. Assisting students with their career development plans, helping employers fulfill their hiring needs, developing new programs, and contributing to the ongoing success of the Hart Career Center has been quite rewarding!”

John Arnold ’09

John Arnold ’09 was recently hired by the Latin American Association to lead two new offices in Athens and Lawrenceville, GA. The Latin American Association is a non-profit organization which provides immigration legal services to low income individuals. John, who is an immigration attorney, will be assisting clients with filing for DACA, naturalization, adjustment of status, consular processing, waivers, and variety of other immigration services. Lauren Pietruszka ’09

Lauren Pietruszka ’09 was recently hired as the new Director of Academic and Social Supports for the Golden Apple Foundation in September 2016. Golden Apple is a non-profit organization that works to inspire, develop and support teacher and school leader excellence in Illinois, especially in schools-of-need. As a 2005 Golden Apple Scholar, Lauren pursued secondary English education at IWU, obtained her Master of Arts in Teaching at National Louis University in 2010, and taught Literacy and AVID courses for six years in Chicago Public Schools. Now as the Director, she is responsible for supporting 600+ undergraduate Golden Apple Scholars throughout the state as they earn their baccalaureate degrees and become teachers in Illinois schools-of-need.
