Let’s Move the Tommymometer to the Top!
Illinois Wesleyan’s fiscal year end is quickly approaching on July 31. Have you shown your Titan Pride by making a gift this year?
Check out the new Tommymometer to see where we stand by clicking here.
If you have already made a gift this year, thank you! If you have not yet made your gift, there is still time for you to make a difference this year.
By making your gift before July 31, you will not only add to the Tommymometer for alumni donors, but you will help to keep current Illinois Wesleyan students enrolled and our alma mater strong. The percentage of alumni donors is important to IWU because outside organizations view it as a metric to measure alumni satisfaction. It affects Illinois Wesleyan’s rankings, bond rating, and ability to earn grants.
Thank you for doing your part to fill the Tommymometer before July 31 and keep Illinois Wesleyan moving forward!
Class of ’99 updates
Hi all, another batch of alumni updates, piled up for quite a while I’m afraid:
- Karle Koritz ’99, who I remember from the Park Place singles house senior year, is now DeWitt County resident circuit judge for the 6th Judicial Circuit.
- Maggie (Folk) Kendall ’99 won a $100,000 grant to build a therapeutic indoor riding facility, bringing equestrian opportunities to special needs children and adults.
- Adriane Powell has been named Director of Alumni Relations at Illinois Wesleyan.
- Taryn (Hettlinger) Parise ’99 and husband Tony welcomed son, Benjamin John Parise, on Jan. 28, 2015.
- Karle Koritz ’99 (again!) and David Newberg ’75 have been working to protect the Mahomet Aquifer from hazardous PCB waste.
ALL IN FOR WESLEYAN
Today is All in for Wesleyan 2015! All gifts made today will be matched by an anonymous donor (up to $75,000).
And this year, there’s a twist. Let me explain.
Gifts to the Wesleyan Fund support student financial assistance and also the little, but essential, things that create the Illinois Wesleyan experience. So today we’re celebrating these little essentials — the unsung heroes. Make a gift today and your name could appear next to one of these items for a limited time.*
Give today and your name could be selected to grace the hot spot, the WESN microphone, and other pieces of campus that will be announced throughout the day. (Learn more)
Give today and your gift will be matched by an anonymous donor.
Give today and show that you’re proud to be a Titan!
Thank You From IWU
2014 Ryan A. Beaupre 5k Race
Hello friends! Just thought I’d report from IWU Homecoming ’14. I got up early today and ran in the annual Beaupre memorial 5k. A little chilly but success! 3rd overall and 1st in my age group. Got a nice knit hat to show for the effort. AND there was enough time to go grab some free pancakes on the quad. I passed on the silly balloon hats, though.
Homecoming Cookies!
Another ’99 News wrap-up
Hi all, here are a few items from a backlog of ’99 news!
- Amanda (Sebolt) Hjerpe ’99 and Erik Hjerpe had a baby girl, Anja Elyse, on June 27, 2013.
- Crea Fusco ’99 had twin boys, Leo and Ford, on June 29!
- Ethan Karolczak has joined Mundelein High School as a social studies teacher.
- Rick Lindquist ’99 (hey, who, me?) was promoted to Instructional Technologist at Illinois Wesleyan on Aug. 1. Rick has worked in Information Technology Services in various roles since 2000. He replaces the former Instructional Technologist, Patrick McLane, who retired in May.
- Jason Spoor-Harvey was interviewed for an article with the Daily Herald discussing his work as a social studies teacher covering 9/11 as a historical event.
YOU did it!
More than 5,000 alumni showed their support by making a gift to IWU in fiscal year 2014!
And for the second year straight, Illinois Wesleyan alumni have grown our alumni giving percentage. We are now at 23%!
THANK YOU for doing your part to keep IWU strong.
