Erik Heine ’98

Erik Heine ’98 is a full professor at Oklahoma City University. His first book, James Newton Howard’s “Signs”: A Film Score Guide, was published by Scarecrow Press in January 2016. He also presented at the Voicing the Soundtrack Conference, held in Austin in honor of David Neumeyer in April 2016. In May, Erik was appointed as Assistant Director of the Honors Program at Oklahoma City University. His son, Theodore Roland, was born on September 30, 2015.

Kimberly Large ’98

Attorney Kimberly M. Large is the recipient of Women Lawyers Association of Michigan (WLAM) Western Region 2016 Outstanding Member Award. Kim was selected for this award based on her commitment to WLAM. She has been a member of WLAM since 2007. Kim was also President of WLAM Michigan, Western Region, from 2013 to 2014, and a board member from 2009 to 2015. Also taken into consideration for the award was Kim’s involvement in mentoring other lawyers, her outstanding legal service and her various charitable and professional activities. Kim specializes in civil litigation, with particular emphasis in the areas of trademark and employment law.

If you have already made a gift this year, thank you! If you have not yet made your gift, there is still time for you to make a difference this year.

By making your gift before July 31, you will not only add to the Tommymometer for alumni donors, but you will help to keep current Illinois Wesleyan students enrolled and our alma mater strong. The percentage of alumni donors is important to IWU because outside organizations view it as a metric to measure alumni satisfaction. It affects Illinois Wesleyan’s rankings, bond rating, and ability to earn grants.

Trissa Babrowski ’98

Trissa Babrowski ’98 is a vascular surgeon at the University of Chicago Medicine. Last year, they had around 200 amputation procedures, of which one can cost up to $80,000. The U of C has a plan to reduce the amount of amputations by one half, however Dr. Trissa Babrowski says, “That goal won’t be met immediately.” The plan is to use preventative strategies to reduce the number of amputations.
