John Fish, who led the Urban Studies Program in Chicago which enabled many IWU undergrads to build an understanding of urban issues, passed away this past week.

Tuesday, March 25, 2014 Cari Stevenson, of Kankakee Community College, returned to campus to serve students by participating in Hart Career Center’s Crystal Ball Coffeehouse, What can you do with a psychology degree? She served on the alumni panel with Claire Karlen ’11 of The Autism Place, Kimberly Woodman ’99 of Mental Health Resource Center, Jessie Bricker ’00 of Skillsprout, and Hannah Jones ’11 of Springfield Public Schools..

Robert Gulino ’97

Since 2011, Bob Gulino has been the Regional Vice President of The Hartford Insurance.

Previous positions include: St. louis Branch Manager from 2009-2011 and Assistant Regional Vice President from 2008-2009.

Bob currently resides in the Greater St. Louis area with his wife, Mollie (Thompson) Gulino and three daughters – Sophie, Shea, Skyler.

Sung Jin Hong’s ’97 Breaking Bad Premieres

Sung Jin Hong’s opera Breaking Bad — Ozymandias (2014) had its world premiere performances on January 26 and 27, 2014 to soldout, standing room only audiences. The forty-five minute opera is for vocal soloists and large symphony orchestra with guitar and saxophone. Many audience members who attended the world premiere are requesting for repeat performances. We have even received requests from people suggesting he write music based on The Walking Dead… Game of Thrones… and even House of Cards. The details of the five-movement opera are discussed here.
