IWU Professor of Music, John Joseph McGrosso born November 14, 1915 passed away on February 3, 2017. A memorial service is being planned for the Spring. You may share your remembrances and thoughts with the family here.

Tom Dossett ’74
Tom Dossett ’74 composed “Trilogy For Bass Trombone” which was performed this last year at the 2016 International Trombone Festival held at The Juilliard School in New York. Blair Bollinger, bass trombonist with the Philadelphia Orchestra, was the performing artist. “Trilogy” was originally commissioned by Tom Streeter, retired professor at IWU. Cheryl Portwood-Peden Emery ’74 is the Tour Coordinator for The Savvy Traveling Seniors of Homewood, IL’s Diamond Tours- The Ultimate Washington DC Tour April 20-25, 2017. Our itinerary includes a scheduled tour of the White House and a session of Congress, as well as a much anticipated visit to the new Smithsonian National Museum of African-American History and Culture. Lee Short ’44
Lee Short ’44, Director of Admissions from 1952-1978, passed away on January 4th. Services for Lee will be held Thursday, January 12 at 10:30 a.m. at Wesley United Methodist Church. An obituary will be published in The Pantagraph on Sunday.
Please join me in offering sympathy to Lee’s wife, Phyllis, his children, and his nephew Trey.
