IWU Professor of Music, John Joseph McGrosso born November 14, 1915 passed away on February 3, 2017. A memorial service is being planned for the Spring. You may share your remembrances and thoughts with the family here.
I graduated from IWU 45 years ago, and while I did not have Prof McGrosso as a teacher, I played for many of his students. (I was a piano/organ major and did a lot of accompanying). Prof. McGrosso was always kind, considerate, and helped so many students over the years. He also helped me to become a better accompanist–not just someone in the background to play for his students. He was a true teacher.
