All In For Wesleyan 2017

Hi Class of ’70!

Just a reminder that today is All In For Wesleyan!  This is an important day for IWU!  But All In for Wesleyan is more than a one-day giving campaign – it’s a day to celebrate Illinois Wesleyan and all of the things that make it special.

Many of you remember our 45th Reunion a couple of years ago

As we move toward our 50th reunion in 3 years, we want to support IWU now for all the good it has done for us in our lives and all the good memories we have from our years there.

I know that many of you wait to give money until this day.  As a special bonus, any gift you make today at www.iwu.edu/all-in will be matched dollar for dollar (up to $100,000!) by Dorothea Bilder ’62, doubling your impact on Illinois Wesleyan!

If you are into social media, you can show your Titan Pride by making a gift and encourage others to participate during All In using #AllInForWesleyan.

Please get involved and stay tuned to the fun and excitement throughout the day.

Your gifts make a difference for IWU students!

Thank a Giver Day

Hi Class of 1970 Members,

Today students, faculty, and staff across campus are celebrating donors and the impact they have on campus.Thank A Giver Day marks the symbolic point during the year — about 70% of the way though — when tuition dollars run out and the University relies on the generosity of donors, the endowment, and external grants for the remainder of the year.

Donor support allows IWU students to continue to have experiences like we had that make being a Titan unique and transformative. If you have already made a gift this year, thank you!  You are greatly appreciated!!  If you want to make a gift today please go to: www.iwu.edu/give.

In Sympathy – Lee Short ’44

Lee W. Short

It is with great sadness that I report to you the passing of Lee Short.  Lee, an IWU icon and loyal alum, was an honorary member of the Class of ’70 and the father of our classmate Karen Short Mills. He was the one who made sure all of us became Titans back in the 1960’s.

It is with great sadness that I must report the death of Lee Short ’44, Director of Admissions from 1952-1978.  Services for Lee will be held next Thursday, January 12 at 10:30 a.m. at Wesley United Methodist Church. An obituary will be published in The Pantagraph on Sunday.

Please join me in offering sympathy to Lee’s wife, Phyllis, his children, and his nephew Trey.

Lee’s many contributions to Illinois Wesleyan are chronicled in this IWU Magazine article from 2010.

You may read his obituary here.
