Due to an unexpected failure of one of our LCMS servers we have to change our OU launch plans. We are now unable to export data from LCMS. This means any changes that were made in the last two weeks will not be imported into OU this morning as we had originally planned. We will now have to manually update pages in OU that have been changed recently. Here is how we hope to accomplish this:
- If you have made crucial changes to your website and can’t make changes in OU yourself, please send them to either email@example.com, firstname.lastname@example.org, or email@example.com and we will update your pages for you.
- If you have been trained in OU and have made recent changes, please replicate your changes again in OmniUpdate.
- If you have not been trained in OU and have made recent changes, but can wait until you can attend a training class, you can update your pages when you have time.
If you do need help updating your pages, just let us know which pages need updating. For example, if two pages in biology were recently updated you would want to send us the URL’s of the two pages like this:
We will then be able to copy your content from the live site directly into OmniUpdate. Once you attend a training session, then you can make future updates on your own.
The good news is that we still plan on launching OmniUpdate tomorrow as we originally planned. We will launch later in the afternoon after everyone has had a chance to react to the announcement we plan on sending Tuesday morning to LCMS users. We would have been in a lot worse shape if our server would have died months earlier. This is just a very odd coincidence. We are very sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.
