Here is a list of community service opportunities available in the month of September:
- Join Team IWU at the Susan G. Komen Race For the Cure. Volunteers are needed to help with setup between 2-6pm on Friday, September 13th. Volunteers are needed to cheer on the participants on Saturday from 8:30am-10am. Please contact your SAAC rep if you are interested in volunteering.
- Reading at Bent Elementary School- one day a week for 20-40 minutes, for the four weeks of February. Being bilingual is a plus, but definitely not a requirement and the books are provided. Please call or email Tory Dahmm with any questions: 309-927-2973 or email@example.com
- Rebound Mentoring and Tutoring- offering junior high students a safe place at Mt. Pigsah (a church in West Bloomington). Volunteer mentors help provide one-on-one tutoring and homework assistance. All participate in a Rebound orientation, meet DCFS approved background checks and complete training in SEL skills (Social and Emotional Learning) through the use of Second Step Violence Prevention materials. To volunteer as an adult mentor for Rebound, contact Matt Miller at (708) 837-2020 or firstname.lastname@example.org
- Look at the IWU Current Volunteer Opportunities website for additional events.
