A student-athlete advisory committee (SAAC) is a committee made up of student-athletes assembled to provide insight on the student-athlete experience and to offer input on the rules, regulations and policies that affect student-athletes’ lives on NCAA member institution campuses.
Presently, there are separate national SAACs for NCAA Divisions I, II and III member institutions. NCAA legislation mandates that all member institutions have SAACs on their respective campuses, and many NCAA conferences also have established SAACs.
Here at IWU, SAAC plays an important role on campus. The student-athletes who serve on SAAC are appointed by their coaches and serve as liaisons between their respective teams and the athletic department. They attend bi-monthly meetings and participate actively on campus and in the community.
