From now until March 9th, The Ames Library is offering two new databases on trial, Periodicals Archive Online<\/em> and Women’s Magazine Archive<\/em>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Periodicals Archive Online<\/em> “makes the backfiles of scholarly periodicals in the arts, humanities and social sciences available electronically, providing access to the searchable full text of hundreds of titles. The database spans more than two centuries of content, 37 key subject areas, and multiple languages.”

Women’s Magazine Archive<\/em> is comprised of digitized “leading women’s interest consumer magazines” which are “scanned in high-resolution color and feature detailed article-level indexing. Coverage ranges from the late-19th century through to 2005 and these key primary sources permit the examination of the events, trends, and attitudes of this period. Among the research fields served by this material are gender studies, social history, economics\/marketing, media, fashion, politics, and popular culture.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
