Will that project be completed by the end of 2016-2017? Do you want to work with an Ames Librarian to bring your research to the next level? Then you should apply for The Ames\u00a0Library\u00a0Artistic and Scholarly\u00a0Research\u00a0award. This\u00a0award\u00a0provides a $500 funding opportunity for a student under the supervision of a faculty sponsor to\u00a0<em>propose<\/em>\u00a0a significant\u00a0research\u00a0or creative project in his or her specific field of study.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.iwu.edu\/library\/files\/2016\/01\/Ames-Logo.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1592\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-1592\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.iwu.edu\/library\/files\/2016\/01\/Ames-Logo-194x300.jpg\" alt=\"Ames Logo\" width=\"194\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.iwu.edu\/library\/files\/2016\/01\/Ames-Logo-194x300.jpg 194w, https:\/\/blogs.iwu.edu\/library\/files\/2016\/01\/Ames-Logo.jpg 497w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 194px) 100vw, 194px\" \/><\/a>The goals of the\u00a0award\u00a0program are to\u00a0increase opportunities for student learning, information literacy, and critical thinking skills through the creation of knowledge\u037e and to foster information literacy skills through the extensive and sophisticated use of the\u00a0library\u00a0services, resources and collections, in collaboration with the liaison\u00a0librarian.<\/p>\n<p>This\u00a0award\u00a0program is open to students in all academic disciplines; all forms of undergraduate\u00a0research\u00a0and artistic activities are eligible for support, including those that receive academic credit.\u00a0\u00a0<strong>Students must have achieved sophomore or junior standing at the time they apply for the\u00a0award<\/strong>; senior students graduating in May of the application year are not eligible to apply.<\/p>\n<p>The deadline to apply is <span>March 1<\/span>, and the\u00a0award\u00a0is announced at the honors convocation in April.
