Students will present on the works they’ve done in various classes focused on this year’s intellectual theme – Nation(s) Divided?<\/p>\n
As part of Illinois Wesleyan’s strategic initiatives and commitment to a strong intellectual campus environment, we\u00a0continue to enhance the use of intellectual themes in curricular and co-curricular programming. Ultimately, the goal is\u00a0create an annual campus-wide theme that serves to frame engagement for the summer reading,\u00a0convocations, May term programming, and any other potential collaborative efforts across campus.\u00a0This year, the theme that\u2019s been selected is Nation(s) Divided?.<\/p>\n
In the spirit of collaboration and mutual support, the faculty involved with the course clusters led by\u00a0Tom Lutze also selected this theme. This \u201cNations(s) Divided?” theme reflects\u00a0faculty-led interest that we hope will permeate the campus community in 2015-16.<\/p>\n
The theme of \u201cNation(s) Divided?\u201d invites us to cross, intersect, and transcend borderlands\u00a0in the ways we think about others and ourselves by deconstructing notions of unity and\u00a0division, of nations and national identities. We invite all students, faculty, and staff to\u00a0explore the concepts and realities of \u201cNation(s) Divided?\u201d and we encourage you to think\u00a0about how this theme can be a part of the programs that your department, class, or student\u00a0organization may sponsor this year.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
