From the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ala.org\/conferencesevents\/celebrationweeks\/natlibraryweek\">American Library Association<\/a>: &#8220;First sponsored in 1958, National Library Week is a national observance sponsored by the American Library Association (ALA) and libraries across the country each April. It is a time to celebrate the contributions of our nation&#8217;s libraries and librarians and to promote library use and support. All types of libraries &#8211; school, public, academic and special &#8211; participate.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>This week is also the last full week of classes at IWU, with the annual <a href=\"https:\/\/www.iwu.edu\/jwprc\/\">John <\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.iwu.edu\/jwprc\/\">Wesley Powell Student Research Conference<\/a> starting Friday night, culminating in a full day of presentations on Saturday. Participating students can learn all about poster printing from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.iwu.edu\/library\/tools\/poster-printing.html\">Ames website<\/a>, and submit their finished products to be printed using this <a href=\"https:\/\/www.iwu.edu\/library\/tools\/Thorpe\/posterform.html\">form<\/a>. The deadline to submit posters for printing is <strong>TODAY (4\/13)<\/strong> if you want it printed in time for Saturday. Remember that the foam board will be <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-1276 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.iwu.edu\/library\/files\/2015\/04\/jwp-300x150.png\" alt=\"jwp\" width=\"300\" height=\"150\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.iwu.edu\/library\/files\/2015\/04\/jwp-300x150.png 300w, https:\/\/blogs.iwu.edu\/library\/files\/2015\/04\/jwp.png 377w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>provided to you at CNS or SFH on Saturday morning.<\/p>\n<p>Stephanie Davis-Kahl is one of the Ames librarians, and is the coordinator for <a href=\"http:\/\/digitalcommons.iwu.edu\/\">Digital Commons@IWU<\/a>, our online archive of exceptional student and faculty work. While military success enabled the building of roads and foundation of colonies, the map demonstrates that the relationship between these three was neither simply causal nor static over time. (This project was made possible by a Re-Centering the Humanities grant from the Andrew W.
