A Database for the Birds

With spring just weeks away, the air will soon be filled with birdsong. And what better way to identify birds and their calls than the Birds of North America database? Wesleyan students, staff, and faculty have access to the full online database here. Whether you’re a biology major or simply enjoy birding, we encourage you to check it out!

  1. Can IWU alumni have access to this wonderful bird database?

    • Hi Matt,

Unfortunately, the product’s license has restrictions that keep us from providing it to our alumni, so it’s available only to current faculty, students and staff. This is the case for just about all licensed online content, though we wish it weren’t. When you’re on campus, you’re welcome to ask the library services desk or a librarian for a guest log-in for this product or use our walk-up computers that are available in our rotunda areas.
