Year of the Rabbit<\/strong><\/p>\n

there is no purer form of advertising
\nthan writing a poem
\nthat’s what the monk told me
\nif I were a conceptual artist
\nI would make high-budget trailers
\nof john updike novels but no actual movie
\nthe scene where angstrom drives towards
\nthe end of his life down a street in the suburbs
\nlined with a type of tree he’s never bothered
\nto identify and laden with white blossoms
\nreflecting slickly in the windscreen
\nI would fade in the music
\nas the old song was fading out
\nkeeping the backing vocals at the same distance
\nkind of balancing the silence
\nthe word RABBIT appears in 10 foot trebuchet<\/p>\n
