{"id":4602,"date":"2019-01-30T17:08:14","date_gmt":"2019-01-30T23:08:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.iwu.edu\/johnupdikesociety\/?p=4602"},"modified":"2019-01-30T17:08:16","modified_gmt":"2019-01-30T23:08:16","slug":"published-black-activism-john-updike","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.iwu.edu\/johnupdikesociety\/2019\/01\/30\/published-black-activism-john-updike\/","title":{"rendered":"Published:  &#8220;Black Activism: John Updike&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>It has come to our attention that the critical essay &#8220;Black Activism: John Updike&#8221; by <strong>Suchitra Vashisth<\/strong>, an assistant professor at DIT University, Dehradun, Uttarakhand, India, was published last year in the <em>International Journal of English Literature and Social Sciences<\/em> (Vol. 3, Issue 1; Jan.-Feb. 2018).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"205\" height=\"297\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.iwu.edu\/johnupdikesociety\/files\/2015\/05\/Screen-Shot-2015-05-25-at-11.53.01-AM.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2940\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;As a a literary artist, he has given us most powerful expression of the American racist society,&#8221; Vashisth writes, adding that &#8220;<em>Rabbit Redux<\/em> contains the story of the black revolution in America in the nineteen sixties.
