We are in the planning stages on obtaining the software and licensing requirements for our computer labs across campus. We are planning to move to SPSS 24 and Mathematica 11.1.1 as the standard versions in our classrooms. Tom Olsen and I are working together to make sure that our Faculty and Staff will also have the same versions added to their respective computers. This may require some additional RAM or an OS upgrade so if there is any questions regarding your computers abilities, please contact your Liaison for help on recommendations to submit on the Permanent Equipment Requests.
Its about time for us to start moving our Windows PC’s to Windows 10 as it has become a more mature and stable OS that we have been testing for a while now. Most of our current versions of softwares now support it. We will be looking at the Lab computers to see if they need RAM upgrades or New Equipment to start making this move. The menu’s have changed a little bit and the way you get to some things are a little different but overall it is running pretty well even on some of our older computers. We will help with the transitions and if there are any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us to see what we can do to help with this transition.
