My Final History Project is a research paper on Julius Caesar and how his actions in the Caesarian Civil War from 49 – 48 BCE was a fight to gain political power, a view not held by many other historians. Most other historians and the general public see the Caesarian Civil War as presented by Caesar himself, which comes from the Missives he sent to Rome during the War. In reality, a closer look at how Cesar wrote, how he pursued the war, and how he continued to grow politically powerful shows a brilliant general who started a conflict across the entirety of the Roman Republic to become the most powerful leader in the Republic with a guise of saving the citizens of the Republic and himself from corrupt politicians.
