Spring 2019 Study Abroad Photo Contest

Study Abroad Photo Contest categories:

Sense of Place— share photos that represent place/s where you studied abroad. Before choosing a photo ask yourself: “What kind of place is this? What does this place mean to me?”

Roads Less Traveled — photos of a place, a hidden gem that tourists won’t find, but those who explore, will.

Daily Life — you have spent months in a different country, with students from other countries… what was your day like? Share photos from your study abroad daily life. It can be a photo of your daily commute, your favorite cafe on the way to internship site, view from your apartment, new favorite breakfast, friends you met while studied abroad etc.

Selfie — the word selfie speaks for itself! Send us some great selfies from places you explored while studying abroad. Other people are allowed to be in selfies with you.

Entry Requirements:

  • You must be an IWU student, who studied abroad in the FALL of 2018.
  • Each student may submit up to 5 photos, but no more than 2 photos in any one of the categories listed above.
  • Photos may be in color or black and white, but should be digital images.

Winners will be those who receive the most likes in each category on our FB page @IWUStudyAbroad. Participants may win in only one category, but additional awards will be given for the People’s Choice (most likes on FB) and Judges’ Choice.

Winning photographs will be displayed at various campus events, such as: Study Abroad Fair, RSO Fair, International Education Week, IWU Freeman Asia Presentation, study abroad info session etc. We will also be sharing photos through the official IWU social media, on IWU Study Abroad website, IWU International Office blog, Study Abroad and International Office FB pages and on Instagram. And your photos will be used in printed study abroad marketing materials help us promote study abroad on campus.

Please remember by submitting your photo you agree to allow IWU International Office to use your name, your photo and its description to promote IWU and Study Abroad Programs.
